Leadership skills are essential in order for youth to be successful leaders in their communities. Developing leadership skills among adolescents allows them to have the ability to utilize the skills and attitudes necessary to become potential leaders in a safe environment. It is important for youth to have the opportunity to be involved in key programs in areas such as public health systems, schools, and the juvenile justice system that affect them.
