  • Empathic Listening is listening in such a sincere and focused way that you put yourself in the other person’s shoes, try to understand what they’re saying from their point of view, feeling their feelings. You forget about yourself and are focused totally on them.

  • List all of the ways you feel heard when someone is listening to you.
  • Divide these ways into verbal feedback and physical feedback.
    • Verbal feedback includes the things that the listener says.
    • Physical feedback is equally if not more important and includes the person's body language, eye contact, and even touch.
